Self description:
My name is Mike Kaelin, and I live in a small town called Lyndeborough, in the state of New Hampshire, in the northeastern part of the United States. I'm an ex-farm boy, living off-grid in a solar-powered Swiss chalet in the woods. I’ve had my own business as an engineering design consultant for the last 8 years. I play various kinds of European folk music on accordion, lived in Switzerland for about 5 years, love the culture, and am fluent in German (and of course, English). I don't know any Chinese or Russian or other languages, but I will also try to learn your native language. I am not at all religious, but am pretty easy-going, and live my life as simply and as close to the land as possible. I'm interested in living a sustainable life, growing organic food, and providing our children with a healthy place to grow up. My main hobbies are playing accordion (with King Ludwig’s Bavarian Band), hiking with the dogs, Aikido (a Japanese martial art), and trying to turn my land into an organic farm.
