5. Conclusions and policy implications
Understanding farmers’ decisions on the adoption of volun-tary nutrients pollution mitigating technologies and their inherentattitudes and perceptions regarding water quality and the exist-ing regulatory measures are key starting points to consider whendesigning and providing the options for measures that reduce pol-lution from agricultural fields. This study has analyzed these factorsin order to identify the critical aspects to consider in the futuredesign of the constructed wetland measure, and its implementa-tion among Danish farmers to ensure a high adoption rate of themeasure, thereby achieving policy success.
