It's not technically a food, but drinking plenty of water is super important while you're breastfeeding as you use more fluid. While there's no exact guide as to how much water you should be consuming each day, let thirst be your guide and don't be tempted to ignore it. New mums should always keep a bottle of water nearby, particularly when settling in for a feeding session.
