Our three health and beauty centers will be your sanctuaries for the week, each staffed by skilled estheticians and therapists who have been widely trained…and often cross-trained in several disciplines. Our treatments use aromatic and medicinal herbs and other healing plants grown in our organic gardens at Tres Estrellas. Their purity and freshness is a source of great pride at Rancho La Puerta. Some see our treatments as pure pleasure, but in truth they are also a valuable and therapeutic part of your balanced mind/body/spirit experience at the Ranch.

About the Ranch

Rancho La Puerta, founded by Edmond and Deborah Szekely in 1940, is the original destination fitness resort and spa. It has always been at this location, and always family-owned and operated.

We provide space—that which is most lacking in today’s life. Space to breathe freely amidst nature. To relax. To renew, reflect and redirect one’s longer-living life. To explore the possibilities of changing course in one’s life. To that end we often refer to our program as “The Door to the Future…Glorious Wellness” which refers to your future, one strengthened and emboldened by good health and fearless life-long learning, which unleashes the willingness to For more than half a century, the Golden Door has invited guests to seek a healthy body and spirit on their 600-acres resort. The property, inspired by traditional ryokan inns in Japan, provides guests with an immersive spa experience characterized by Asian influences, like a Watsu water therapy pool and Reiki chakra-balancing massages. The property houses 40 guest rooms complete with private Zen gardens and moon viewing decks and hosts a variety of wellness activities including t’ai chi and self hypnosis. Meanwhile, the kitchen prepares organic cuisine based on a nourishing mindful diet and ingredients picked fresh from the bio-dynamic garden. Recently, the destination spa pledged 100 percent of their net profits to charities with shared goals and intentions.
