The positive relationship between head/chest disparity and target
vehicle delta-V is shown in Fig. 9. The data are from the three
crash tests performed here plus that of Henderson (2006). A linear
pattern with a strong correlation is evident (r = 0.99).
Previous research (Henderson, 2006) suggested a speed change
threshold at 3 mph below which head/chest disparities were
reduced to a point where they became similar to everyday events.
The sitting-into-a-chair tests conducted here produced head and
chest disparities between 0.48 and 0.96g. Fig. 10 shows these results
