On May 26 (Day 0) about 40 bulbils (350–400 mg) per plant were
harvested from the middle of the stem (2/3 position of the stem).
From September 25 (Day 122), plants received either natural
light or HID treatment from HPS lamps for 16 h from 0700 HR at
21 ◦C/18 ◦C greenhouse until December 24 (Day 212). Plants then
received thirty days of long day treatment with incandescent light
at 20 mol/m2/s from 1600 to 2400 HR. On January 23 (Day 231), all
scaly leaves were separated from plants and pots were moved to a
greenhouse maintained at 21 ◦C/12.5 ◦C for 35 days (Day 266). The
greenhouse temperature was then maintained at 21 ◦C/16 ◦C until
flowering. Data were collected from 13 plants which were completely
randomized during forcing. Since there was a significant
difference among temperature treatments given to bulbils, data
were analyzed for each treatment (TRT) and means were compared.
