Three security officers were injured when a roadside bomb was detonated while they were on
a patrol to give protection to teachers going to schools in the municipal area of Pattani province this
morning. The incident happened at about 8 am while the security officers were patrolling near Chabang
Tiko bridge in the municipal area. The 10-kilo home made bomb went off as they walked pass.
However they suffered only minor injuries from the explosion, mostly deafening ears.
They were later admitted to Pattani hospital. Earlier in adjacent Nong Chik district, security
officers also removed several cloth banners after they were found hanging on four locations in
Nong Chik district The banners carried messages written in both Malay and Thai attacking the
government.
