About 300 angry residents laid siege to the Thalang police station in Phuket in what eventually turned into a riot on Saturday night with the crowd setting fire to a number of vehicles
The crowd smashed the glass in the police station and damaged the police station.
The crowd then blocked the road in front of the police station with steel barriers and set up tents, completely closing down the flow of traffic to and from the town of Phuket.
The crowd of local residents was angered after two young men died when their motorcycle was hit by a police truck chasing them after they had sped through a police checkpoint.
