Even though technological advances grant several negatives, there are some benefits provided to users. Younkins (2000) had mentioned that human existence would be boring without experiment and change. Human fulfillment would depend on novelty, surprise, and creativity. That is why the technology is created for. If we can adapt technology to use properly, it can bring profound benefits. The first benefit is the development of brain function. Despite the aforementioned negative impact about learning process, it does have advantages in brain function. Referring to Carr (2010), a psychologist’s studies on how a various kind of media can influence cognitive skills indicated that playing video games can enhance visual literacy skills, the speed of shifting focus among icons and images on screens. Besides, a more automatic thinking and less rigorous are the results from rapid shifts in focus. Apart from enhancing cognitive skills, the growing use of screen-based media improves the capability to do jobs involving keeping track of lots of concurrent signals like air traffic control (Carr, 2010). Likewise, Michale Merzenich, the pioneering neuroscientist, believes “our brains are being massively remodeled by our ever-intensifying use of the web and related media”. The human brain adapts to the tool we use, such as finding, storing, and sharing information, which all of them are the results of technological advancement. Lastly, it can be said that technology results in the improvement of human brain functioning.
