storage pile slabs is another solution.
The choice of the type of storage depends
on the number of sugar mills involved,
transport distance, means of bagasse
delivery, and the length of the cane
harvesting season. If conditions are
such that either of the two basic long—
term storage systems (bale storage and
bulk storage) may be used, the wet bulk
pile system is to be preferred as
handling costs are lower and storage
losses are lower especially if the bale
system uses smaller bales. Also in most
cases, bagasse in bulk piles can be
stored for longer periods of time without
appreciable deterioration. Only the
BAGATEX—2O system is comparable in this
respect
