Successful cutting propagation has been associated with the ideal time of stem cutting collection. Effect of
season on the successful cutting can be correlated to change of C/N level and endogenous auxin level in the
mother plant tissues. It has been reported that C/N ratio may be an important factor influencing the root ability
of Thunbergia grandiflora cutting since the value of C/N ratio were positively related to the rooting percentage
around the year [8]. The results obtained in the present research, showed that stentlings had highest root number
in the 2nd stage (Table 1). Higher grafting take percent resulted in 2nd stage and where as scion maintained its
leaves, the carbohydrate and auxin supply from the leaves may have supported the root growth [7].
