“You want the right to end this agreement at any time.”
“ It took me a long time to get rid of Kravitz and Bane last
time. I don’t want to go through that again. And I want to deal
with no one except you. That place is full of Jews, and they don’t
get involved, OK?”
“You will only be dealing with me,” Adam assured him.
Adam read again a paragraph on page three. It gave Sam the
authority to select two witnesses at his execution.
“I don’t understand this,” Adam said.
“It’s very simple. If we get to that point, there will be about
fifteen witnesses. I select two o f them.”
“Then why do you want this clause?”
“Because the lawyer is always one of the two.”
“And you don’t want me to witness the execution?”
“Correct.” He leaned forward until his nose was an inch from
the screen. “I do not want you there.”
