A total of 31 endophytic bacteria were screened for
their antagonistic potentials against soil borne fungi of
soybean. The antagonistic effectiveness of the bacterial
isolates varied from poor to moderate. Results from the
dual culture assay showed that the bacterial isolates
showed promising ability to inhibit the mycelial growth
of R. solani, F. oxysporum and S. rolfsii while the growth
of other three pathogenic fungi viz., C. truncatum, A.
alternata and M. phaseolina were inhibited very poorly
