Mobile Telephones
There are various mobile telephone providers, and it is advisable to compare prices before making a choice. The main mobile telephone companies have shops located in central areas.
Tele-Denmark Communications (TDC) is one of the main suppliers of mobile phone subscriptions.
Other mobile telephone companies in Denmark include the following (most of the websites are in Danish only):
Lebara
One Mobile
Telenor

Pre-paid SIM cards and contracts are the two options for mobile telephones in Denmark.
Pre-paid SIM cards and top-ups can be purchased in tobacco kiosks. Pre-paid cards are also available in some supermarkets and petrol stations. It is only possible to pre-order a pay-as-you-go SIM card online with a Danish address and a CPR number. Most companies offer pay-as-you-go SIM cards, often with attractive deals on international calls
Most contracts tend to be for a fixed period of time, so this might not be the best option when staying in Denmark for a couple of months only; six months is the shortest contract available.
The benefits of a contract are:
Lower call rates
Better deals on new phones
Many companies offer Internet as part of a package deal
