The History and Archaeology Department is based in a modern purpose-built building at the heart of the University's main Chester Campus.
Teaching methods draw on a mixture of lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical sessions and field visits. Students benefit from the contribution of practising archaeology, heritage and history professionals and from the opportunities within the MA, MRes, MPhil and PhD programmes to undertake their own bespoke research.
The Department of History and Archaeology has very good links with heritage, museum and archive agencies within the city of Chester, from which students are able to benefit during the course of their studies.
