The high yields
obtained by using ZnCl2 as activating agent is due to its
depolymerization action of the biopolymers, which suffer dehydration
and redistribution, promoting the conversion of aliphatic
to aromatic compounds, consequently, increasing the yield [16].
The impregnation ratio (ZnCl2:char) of 3:1 (wt:wt) was herein
chosen, because according to previous studies, the increment of
activating agent leads to obtain ACs with higher surface area
