Purpose/Goal

recommended practices for sterile technique in his or her
perioperative practice setting.
Objectives
1. Describe surgical attire that should be worn in the OR or
invasive procedure room.
2. Describe sterile technique related to wearing surgical
gloves.
3. Identify practices for maintaining a sterile field.
4. Identify practices for monitoring the sterile field.
5. Discuss actions to take with contaminated instruments on
the sterile field.
