Apart from the traffic noise, there are lots of factors affecting noise pollution in urban areas such as land use types, population distribution and passages type, but not with the same degree of effectiveness. Unfortunately, this has been less noticed in noise pollution assessment studies. In other words, in spatial analysis of noise pollution, it could not be possible to consider similar importance for all the variables involved. Therefore, it could be necessary to adopt an appropriate approach to specify the influential level of the variables before the analysis getting started. Among the main criteria, the criterion streets with weight of 0.723 accounts for the biggest share of noise pollution in the district. In other words, the type of the passages play more effective role in noise pollution in urban areas. With a weight of 0.083, population was given the lowest weight.
