Phraya Trang was the son of an administrator of Nakhon Si Thammarat province. Although there are not many documents about his life, his ability to write poems is well known. He wrote many precious poems during the golden age such as a love poem called “Pleng Yow Phraya Trang”. His other famous poems include a long poem, which he wrote in 1818 to do honour to King Rama II’s greatness, and a long poem called “Klong Nirad Ta Lang”, which he wrote in 1809, the year that the Burmese army attacked Siam in the town of Ta Lang.
