The diets consisted of a total mixed ration, including molasses to avoid selection of dietary ingredients, based on alfalfa
hay, ground corn grain and soybean meal supplemented with 0 (control; T0), 98 (T10) and 244 (T25; g/kg DM) of olive cake.
The olive cake used in this study was partly destoned, and dried at 65 ◦C in a forced-air oven (donated by Bethania, Chile).
The rations (2.5 kg DM ewe/d) were supplied twice daily (10.30 and 18.30 h) in amounts to ensure 10% refusal on an as-fed
basis. Orts were measured daily during each collection period to determine feed intake for each ewe.
