The photo multiplier high voltage supply provides a high
voltage ranging from 1500 volts to 2500 volts against a load
of 20 megohm with magnitude of ripples on the high voltage
being at a prescribed level, where the load is a breeder of the photomultiplier. Ripples on the high voltage grow in amplitude as the load current increases.
Allowable magnitude of the ripples decides an upper limit of the load current.
The transformer is ready to drive the breeder from a view point of power if the output voltage of the transformer is properly converted.
So the output is rectified by a cockcroft walton circuit which achieves voltage conversion at the same time.
