Hiroshi: Hey, Mizuki. You look upset. What’s the matter?
Mizuki: I ’m feeling down. It’s my parents really. They’re so old-fashioned— they’re not easy to put up with. If I go out at night, they’re constantly calling me up on my cell phone to check up on me. And if I want to spend the night out at a friend’s place, they want to know absolutely everything about who will be there and what we’ll be doing, and so on.
Hiroshi: You ought to talk to them and explain that they can trust you.
Mizuki: I tried talking to them, but they say it’s for my own good. Oh, I give up! Hiroshi: They’re probably concerned about your well-being.
Mizuki: You’re probably right. Do you get along OK with your parents?
Hiroshi: Sure. They’re pretty open. To be honest, we have a great relationship. But my mom always says: “Take this medicine with you in case you get sick, and don’t forget to call as soon as you arrive.” I guess all parents are the same.
