With the rapid growth in the number of bridges and underwater tunnels along the Northestern Seaboard of the united States, many of the ferryboats that traversed the waters between the coast and outlying islands are going out of business. The ferryboats, standing forlornly at abandoned docks and piers, are a sad reminder of the gay, bustling throgs of commuters and pleasure lovers who once boarded with cars, children ,pet and baggage. There is now drive to bring these ferryboats back to life as floating restaurants, museums ,and historic monuments.
