The RL birds were intermediate but produced
13.2% to 66.2% less fresh and 19.7% to 63.2% less
dry excreta than D- birds. For all measurements, the
greatest differences were observed between 21 and 35
d (i.e., around the selection age). Furthermore, except
between 42 and 49 d, D+ birds produced 17.2% to
41.6% less (P < 0.05) dry excreta than RL birds, and
the differences decreased with the age. The differences
between D+ and RL birds were not signifi cant for fresh
excreta weight.
