A substantial number of respondents reported having flu shots in the previous year (43.8%), but there was also a large proportion of respondents who had never had a flu shot (44.1%). More than a quarter of the individuals surveyed reported never having a routine physical without seeing the doctor for another health problem. Some 21.4% reported getting physical exams while seeing a physician for a health problem and 10.6% reported never having a physical checkup. Less than half (39.8%) reported a routine checkup in the previous year, and more than half (56.3%) reported a checkup in the previous 2 years. We examined the recency of several recommended screening tests for women (see Table 2).
