The results of the data indicated that the brix % of juice were showed increasing trend towards
maturity (18.78 to 20.23%), while sucrose % juice reached maximum at 11th month (17.78 %)
and declined at 12th month (16.71 %) (Fig.1). Reduction in sucrose might be associated with
higher reducing sugar % in juice at 12th month. Further, data in comparing with control
experiment also showed that the sucrose % juice of waterlogged plants reached maximum peak
at 11th month and declined thereafter while, in control plants recorded maximum sucrose% juice
at 12th month of the crop (Fig.2AandB). However, 93 WL 1297, 98 WL 1357, 88 WL 2137, 92
WL 1029, NCO 310 and 57 NG 136 showed the least resistance to inversion of sucrose as
compared to other clones studied.
