Oxygen saturation in the fish rearing tanks is
maintained around 100% by injecting pure oxygen via a closed-loop
within each tank using a 0.75–1.5 hp centrifugal pump. The seaweed
tank system used in the present study received effluent directly from
one of the halibut culture systems after settleable solids were removed
by the swirl separator and suspended solids removed by a pressurized
sand filter
