Although it is possible that the 5*1 min exposures to cold-water immersion
in the present study were not a sufficient stimulus for recovery, other investigators have
reported that neither did longer exposures to coldwater immersion enhance recovery of vertical jump or mean sprint time (Bailey et al., 2007). However,Bailey et al. (2007) reported that cold-water immersion reduced the decrement in isometric maximal voluntary contraction of the knee extensors, suggesting that a range of performance tests should be used in future research.
