InBrazil, the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) is the responsible body for the control of quality of lubricating oils. The Program for Monitoring the Quality of Lubricants (PMQL) was created in 2006 by the ANP in order to monitor systematically the quality of lubricating oils marketed in Brazil. One of their control parameters is verifying the concentration of active components (Ca, Mg and Zn) that are in the form of organic compounds presented in additives. Monthly, the ANP publishes a newsletter with the results obtained in PMQL [5].
