Homework:
Write an itinerary for a 14 day holiday to Thailand.
Group A: 4 days in Bangkok, then the rest of the holiday in the North of Thailand.
Group B: 4 days in Bangkok, then the rest of the holiday in the South of Thailand.
Both itineraries should be suitable for a family (husband and wife and their two children – one boy aged 7 and one girl aged 10).
The children are quite young, so they will want to do fun activities; the parents want their children to have safe fun too, however the parents also want their children to see some interesting and historical attractions, such as: temples, museums and markets.
Don’t forget to warn your tourist customers about the dangers and *tourist traps in Thailand.
Example: Itinerary (14 days in Thailand)
Day 1: Arrive in Bangkok. Check in Hotel………… then visit water park at ………. Evening meal to see skyline of Bangkok at Hotel ______ near to Asiatique
Day 2: Snake farm at ……………and 3D art gallery at ……….. – meal at restaurant …………….in Chinatown
Day 3 stroll around Chatuchak Market then………………. etc. etc…..
*tourist trap
A tourist trap is a place specifically designed to attract stupid tourists and take their money.
Example: In Paris, an artist stopped me in the street and said he would draw a picture of me. I thought it would be value for money. He drew the picture and I paid 80 Euros (that is about 3,200 baht). When I looked at the picture it was terrible; it didn’t even look like me. I was very disappointed and lost a lot of money; I felt “ripped off”. That area around Montmartre in Paris is a tourist trap.
