Similar to Fissure, Bursting Floor also has a crevice and break in the ground surface. However, with Bursting Floor, there is the notion of birth. The break is also more concentrated than in Fissure. Why is that?
Bursting Floor is a later attempt to interfere with a minimalistic concept in one space. I like the idea that something could happen to a space – that it could break apart, fall, open up or revolve something unknown. This concept uses the space as a stage for the sculpture. The idea and the space become one thing instead of an artwork which is just posed.
