Perceptions of Mangrove State Compared with the
Actual State
The overall rating of the mangrove state in the three study
sites was medium (3.0). The ordinal regression analysis
identified a significant difference in the perceptions of
mangrove state for the residence locations (VIL; Table 5). The
respondents in TPHperceived that the state of their mangroves
was medium to healthy (3.8), whereas the respondents in KK
and PNY perceived their mangroves to be degraded to medium
(2.9 and 2.6, respectively; Table 5).
