SOLUTION!
As this is the top Google link for this issue, I wanted to make sure that this possible solution got out there:
If you run Alice as administrator, chances are you might see an error where the following DLL file is missing:
cudart32_41_22.dll
Under your steamapps folder, you'll find it in:
steamappscommonAlice Madness ReturnsBinariesWin32
It's for PhysX. Alice doesn't install it and a new PhysX installation will have a newer version of the DLL file.
My solution? Install PhysX. Go to its folder in "C:Program Files (x86)NVIDIA Corporation"
Now do a search for "cudart". You'll find a couple of results, and one should START with "cudart32_41". For example, mine was "cudart32_41_4.dll". It probably won't be the same one you're missing, like it was for me. Doesn't matter.
COPY that file to the "Win32" folder for Alice I mentioned earlier, and RENAME it to "cudart32_41_22.dll". Alice should now load properly.
I really hope this helps some people.
