Performance of weaning piglets is presented in Table 6. For the initial 8 days after weaning, FMA flavor resulted in 31.9% increase in ADFI (269 ± 19 vs. 204 ± 25 g/day) and 19.9% increase in ADG (289 ± 23 vs. 241 ± 8 g/day) as compared to the CON group (P < 0.01). Compared with sodium butyrate, FMA flavor significantly increased by 27.5% and 41.0% (P < 0.01) in ADFI (269 ± 19 vs. 211 ± 12 g/day) and ADG (289 ± 23 vs. 205 ± 28 g/day), respectively. However, there was no difference in FCR among treatments.
