In-situ grown β-Si3N4 and α-SiC co-reinforcedLa-containingglassceramicmatrixcompositesusingZrO2
as additionwereobtainedbyatwo-stepsinteringprocess.Thesecompositeswerepressurelesssintered
under anitrogenatmosphereatdifferentsinteringconditionsforcomparisonofphasetransformation
and mechanicalproperties.Densitiesofthesamplesweremeasuredandanalysesofresultantproducts
werecarriedoutusingX-raydiffraction(XRD)andscanningelectronmicroscope(SEM).Theresultsshow
that additionsofLa-containingglasscaneffectivelypromote α-Si3N4 to β-Si3N4 phase transformation.
However, β-Si3N4 grain growthwashinderedbytheexistent α-SiC. TheLa-containingglass-ceramic
matrix compositesexhibithighmechanicalproperties
