This study chose the group who read both print books and ebooks to analyze whether situational context was as important as function in the choice between the two media. It was confirmed that people overwhelmingly prefer print books over ebooks in certain situations, such as reading to a child (85.9%) and sharing books with other people (70.3%). At the same time, ebooks are preferred in other situations, such as needing to get a book quickly (85.2%) and reading books while on the move (76.6%). Ease of access and the increasing selection of ebooks are other reasons why many people tend to prefer the newer media (54.4%), indicating that support for medium attributes is somewhat important.
