1. Introduction
Thecoexistenceofferroelectricandmagneticordersinmultiferroic
materialshasevokedanenormousresearchinthisfrontierarea
recently.Themagneticandferroelectriccouplingleadspotential
applicationinnewmultifunctionaldevices [1–3]. Inordertousethe
multiferroicmaterialsforapplications,themagnetoelectriccoupling
must bebothlargeandactiveatroomtemperature.Amongthe
single-phasemultiferroicmaterials,undopedBismuthferrite(BiFeO3
or BFO)anddopedBFOhaverelativelyhighleakagecurrentdisrupting
thedesirableMEcoupling [4–6] at roomtemperature.Incontrast,
multiferroiccomposites,whichincorporatebothferroelectricand
ferri-/ferromagneticphases,typicallyyieldenhancedMEcouplingat
roomtemperature [7–11]. IntheseMEcompositesystems,MEcou-
plingisstrain-mediatedandtheelasticcouplinginteractionleadsto
giantmagnetoelectricresponse.
LiteraturehasrevealedthatwhenBFOismodified byBTOtoform
the composite,themultiferroicpropertiesmaybeenhancedandsuch
reportsonBFO–BTOcompositesarealsoverylimited.RecentlyKumar
et al. [12], Buscagliaetal. [13], Chandaraketal. [14], Itohetal. [15] and
Bennettetal. [16] havestudiedsuchsystems.Theirstudyinvolved
onlyundopedBFOforthesynthesisofcomposites.Whenachemically
modified BFOisaddedtoBTOtopreparethecomposite,onecan
expectbetterresultsasthedopedBFOhasbeenprovedtoexhi-
