Human activity is having a major effect on the environment, which will cause many problems for human and animal life in the future. This essay will set out the main causes of climate change and the effects of human activity on the environment.
Human activity is causing the environment to change in a number of way. Human are the cause of climate change because of deforestation and burning fossil fuels. Fossil fuels were formed hundreds of millions of years ago from the fossilized remains of plants and animals. After the organisms died and decomposed, they were eventually buried under hundreds or thousands of feet of mud, rock, and sand. Over time, pressure and heat from the earth compacted the material into layers of sedimentary rock.
The effect to occur. Burning fossil fuels is not the only thing that humans are doing to increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In many parts of the world today, forests are being destroyed at an alarming rate. Enormous numbers of trees are being cut down, both to provide timber and to clear the land for farming or ranching. This destructive process is called deforestation. Burning fossil fuels is destroying the environment, causing air pollution. It also makes the animals caused extinction and loss of habitat.
Human activity is clearly causing the climate to change and, as a result, this is having a number of effects on the planet. It is important that we try to reduce our negative impact on the planet as possible for example, by using renewable energy instead of fossil fuels – before it is too late.
