The addi- tion of PtO2 and/or CeO2 dopants has been found to reduce the size of 211 inclusions in the Y123 matrix, leading to an increase of the critical current densities Jc under an applied magnetic field [14,15]. The addition of BaTiO3 on the superconducting properties of Y123 prepared by solid state reaction leads to the
degradation of the superconducting transition temper- ature (Tc), and it was reported that the small amount of recovery of Tc which was degraded by the solid state reaction is provided by melt processing which indi- cates that the reaction between the 123 superconduct- ing phase and the dopant is suppressed [16].
