After explicit teaching on the components of metacognition, Mr.Cassidy’s students research, produce, and present biographies of famous people who have demonstrated metacognition. Students can use their choice of technology to present their work. Requirements include summary of the person’s history and highlights of the individual’s contributions. They are also required to incorporate a graphic organizer that shows the connection between the individual and their use of metacognitive strategies. In their presentation, students demonstrate their understanding of metacognition, how individuals control it, and its connection to personal productivity.
