Pigs fed AB had greater (P < 0.05) ADG and ADFI
than NC pigs during the prechallenge period (Table
2). Although NC pigs and pigs fed YFP had similar
(P = 0.31) ADG during the prechallenge period, pigs
fed WSYFP tended to have greater ADG (160 vs. 142
g/d; P = 0.07) than those fed XPC. Treatments did
not affect G:F during the prechallenge period. Daily
BW gain of pigs receiving YFP was similar to that of
NC pigs during the postchallenge period. Pigs receiving
YFP had greater ADFI than NC pigs on d 3 (424 vs.
378 g/d; P = 0.01) and d 7 (506 vs. 458 g/d; P = 0.03)
postchallenge. However, the ADFI of pigs fed YFP was
similar to and less than (P = 0.03) that of pigs receiving
AB
on
d
3
and
7
postchallenge,
respectively.
During
the postchallenge period, pigs receiving XPC had
greater ADFI on d 3 (P = 0.04) and d 7 (P = 0.03)
than pigs receiving WSYFP. Additives did not affect
G:F relative to the NC pigs during the postchallenge
period; however, pigs fed AB had better (P = 0.05) G:F
than those fed YFP on d 3.
