RESEARCH RESULTS
There were a number of maintenance issues regarding the Web site development process and
concerning the way in which future Web site maintenance work could be catered for during the Web site
development process, found during the case studies in the seven organizations researched over the two year
period. The issues were identified mainly by interviewing staff involved in Web site development
within the seven organizations. In addition, the experience gained by the authors during the consultancy
projects within five of the organizations studied, assisted in further refining the examination of the
issues identified. The issues identified were deemed to be the major maintenance issues within Web
site design and development by those interviewed. However, as discussed later, some issues were more
relevant to some of the organizations than others.
