Gold in the North of Thailand specially in chiang mai was influenced by Burma.
The tradition of Burmese money ceased to continue to this day in the region of Wau Lai, or Chao Kawila. the ruler of Chiang Mai,
re-introduced the goldsmiths to the 18th century.
At the same time, in Bangkok, Goldsmith was influenced by the Chinese through contracts of trade and migration.
In the past Silver such as bowls or trays were made for ceremonies.
Services of commonly betelnut, ornaments and boxes were part of the objects for personal use. The silver is melted in a ceramic container placed in a furnace and poured in some molds to form thin flat sheets.
Then the still warm leaves are hammered on a bed of resin to create the desired shapes.
When the leaves have mmidies they must be heated again.
