Culture in India has not gone long way in accepting women at work place and as a leader. Society is heavily male dominated and women are considered subordinate to men. Dressing sense of women clearly segregates from men. Shaking hands with women is still off limits in some working society and not seen outside of work environment.
Culture in India is deeply embedded with religious and spiritual beliefs, and people are deeply superstitious.
Indian culture has a hierarchical leadership structure, they expect boss to give them promotion, self-promoting is not considered to be modest. A strong work ethic is visible in the society; they are hardworking, work on a task based rather than clock based. Working Hours in India start late and finish late, you will find that shopping is open late on all days. They are humble in meetings and consider impolite to speak or challenge other person’s idea.
