TA of the juice was determined on a 15 mL sample of expressed juice. The sample was pipetted into a 150 mL beaker containing a magnetic stirrer and 60 mL of distilled water. It was then titrated with 0.10 g L−1 NaOH with an automatic titrator (Brinkmann 719 S Titrino, Metrohm, Herisau, Switzerland) to a pH endpoint of 8.10. TA was calculated using the following formula:
