Data for analysis included a total of 1,290,222 valid blood
donations, collected from 605,549 donors, with an average of
2.1 units/donor (range 1–57). About 69% of the donors were
men and 31% were women.Median age was 29, ranging from
17 to 70 years. Mean age of the donors was 33 ± 12.4 years.
About 79% of the blood donors were born in Israel, and 21%
had emigrated from different countries (Table 1).
