Many studies have suggested balanced N:P:K application ratios
(Sheldrick et al., 2003; Gao et al., 2006; Lin et al., 2006; Darilek
et al., 2009), however soil K was still unbalanced in the treatments
receiving K fertilizer application after 14 years of what many of
those studies consider balanced N:P:K application ratios. Vitosh
et al. (1989) suggested a 3:1:3 ratio for wheat, yet plots in this
study which received K fertilizer had K application ratios similar to
or higher than this recommendation.
