In a nutshell, air pollution is the result of adding compounds or particles to the air that are harmful to human health or the environment. The most obvious danger of air pollution is that humans and other animals inhale pollutants and can become ill. In particular, air pollution leads to lung and respiratory illnesses – including asthma , bronchitis, and emphysema-and various cancers. Adding pollutants to the atmosphere damages the environment as well as human health.
