Fifi, the flirtatious French purple skunk, had recently built a cozy treehouse in the woods near her home. How nice it was! It was much like a smaller version of her own house, but much simpler. It had a classic rope ladder that went all the way to the ground but she could pull it up if she wanted to. She could also shoo away almost anyone with her oh so potent smell that she could spray from her tail. And what a spray it was! Sometimes, she forgot she even had it, getting her into comedic situations.
Little did she know though, another being had tried claiming the treehouse as his own. Kaa, the well known hypnotic python had taken up residence inside the upper branches of Fifi's tree house while she had been away, hoping it was abandoned. Imagine Kaa's surprise when the cute Fifi climbed up into the house, waking him with her smell! Kaa's eyes watered at first, making him cough loudly.
"What on earth issss that ssssmell?" he gagged. Perhaps fortunately, Fifi heard Kaa's plight.
"Hello? Who iz there?" Fifi asked innocently, unaware of her tail smell at the moment. Kaa dropped his head into her tree house through one of the windows, his eyes still watering.
"Only a temporary guessst... who isss dying." Kaa said morosely. Fifi, not understanding his meaning at first, thought he really was dying and would keel over soon.
"Oh no! You are dying? Please, let me take you to the hospital!" she offered good naturedly. Kaa perked up slightly at her naiive nature and her cute face.
"Oh, no no no, I'm terribly ssssorry, I'm not really dying my dear. I'm jussst having a difficult time with thossse fumesss." Kaa explained.
"Fumes? Oh! Moi tail, of course!" Fifi acknowledged, curling her tail backwards and conciously stopping the release of her stink. After a few seconds the smell dissipated and Kaa's eyes stopped watering.
"Oh thank heavensss... Thank you my dear for ssstopping that sssmell." Kaa said graciously, offering his tail to Fifi to shake hands, er, limbs. Fifi took his tail innocently and shook it.
"You are welcome cher! But what are you doing in my tree house?" Fifi asked curiously.
"Oh, I wasss jussst passssing through, taking a ressst in your lovely tree." Kaa said honestly.
"You are? Well, if you keep things clean, you are welcome to stay here in moi tree house." Fifi offered generously, finding the snake interesting and polite.
"You would do that for me missss...?" Kaa asked, both asking her permission and for her name.
"Yes cher! And my name is Fifi. Fifi La Fume!" she giggled, offering her furry paw to shake once again. Kaa smiled good naturedly and coiled her soft paw with his tail, liking her soft fur against his scales.
"A pleasssure to meet you Misssss Fifi. My name issss Kaa." he introduced, bowing his head politely. Fifi giggled, charmed by Kaa's manners and his lisp. She gave his tail a light squeeze, fascinated by his coils. Kaa noticed this quickly.
"You like my coilsss Fifi?" he asked curiously.
"Yes, I do Kaa. They are very soft and smooth. I've never met a snake before." Fifi admitted, curiously examining his other coils. Smiling, Kaa slid the rest of his body inside the tree house.
"Really now? Ussss sssnakesss have many lovely giftsss. Our coilsss are but one of our featuresss." Kaa said in an mysterious way, trying to wet Fifi's curiosity.
"You do? What else do you have?" Fifi asked, obviously interested. Kaa offered her a seat on one of his thicker coils and Fifi graciously accepted the offer.
"Oh, no, you wouldn't be interesssted. Our meager giftsss are lessss than worthy of your attention." Kaa said, trying to seem more mysterious. This only served to make Fifi more curious.
"Oh please, tell moi what else you can do!" Fifi begged, now hooked firmly in what Kaa might be able to do.
"You promissse to not be bored?" Kaa asked slyly, putting a light coil over her shoulders, like a friend might do with an arm. Fifi nodded eagerly, smiling charmingly.
"Alright then. In that cassse, I need you to look directly into my eyesss..." Kaa said seductively, using his tail to form a small crown around Fifi's head, turning her head towards his own. Fifi didn't seem to mind, finding this very exciting. She smiled, her large purple eyes looking cleanly into Kaa's.
