Given the plasmonic resonance of Ag nanoparticles and photocatalytic
activity of AgCl, hybrid crystals of Ag and AgCl (abbreviated
as Ag:AgCl) have been proposed as efficient and stable
photocatalysts under visible light irradiation [13,15–20]. A number
of synthetic routes have been reported for Ag:AgCl hybrid crystals.
For examples, Huang et al. synthesized a visible-light driven
Ag:AgCl photocatalyst by ion exchange reaction between Ag2MoO4
and HCl followed by photoinduced reduction of Ag+ ions to the Ag0
species [15,16]. Sun et al.
